Dr. Raquel Tingey is our newest team member and resident physician at Lighthouse Natural Medicine. She will be serving the clinic in all things naturopathic medicine throughout her CNME-approved residency. Dr. Tingey comes to us with a surplus of knowledge and skill and we are excited to welcome her to our team!
Dr. Tingey’s philosophy of health and well-being brought her to Naturopathic Medicine after being shuffled amongst conventional medicine specialists with her own health challenges, never to have her concerns adequately addressed. Even though she had begun on a path to conventional medicine, when she discovered Naturopathic Medicine, she found it easy to commit and quickly packed up and moved her life to Washington to attend Bastyr University’s Doctoral program in Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Tingey believes that most health conditions take time with the patient to fully understand and treat effectively, as no two people are exactly alike. She is excited to practice a truly integrative style as she believes the most impactful treatments are evidence-informed and exist of both conventional and “alternative” medical interventions.
As a Utah native, Dr. Tingey received her undergraduate training at the University of Utah, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science with an emphasis in cellular and molecular biology along with a minor in chemistry. She received her doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University. Aside from her rigorous academic training, Dr. Tingey has additional expertise in laboratory science, medical research, intravenous micronutrient therapy, and integrative dermatology. She has served as a professional teaching assistant in cellular biology, immunology, clinical laboratory science, phlebotomy, and IV therapy. Fields of medicine that most excite her are integrative primary care, preventive medicine, dermatology, geriatrics, and neurology.
Aside from practicing naturopathic medicine, Dr. Tingey enjoys spending time with her spouse, Camron, and their two pugs, Gidget and Princess Peach. She loves coffee, all snow sports, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the beautiful state of Washington.
